Dee was born 8 May 1893 in Wichita, Kansas, the only child of Alfred Hensley Lauck and Ella Dorie 'Dovie' Robinson.

His mother was born 25 Oct 1868 in Kentucky and died 23 Mar 1949 in Wichita, Kansas. His father was born 30 Apr 1869 in Illinois and died 18 Jan 1903 in Wichita when Dee was just 10.

In subsequent census records, Dee appears in the household of his mother and grandmother, Mary E. Robinson. At 16 he was working as a bookkeeper in a bank.

His was first married in 1914 to Irine (?). By 1920 he was single and owned a bakery in Long Beach, California.

His second wife Amy H. Heeb was born about 1892 in Dubuque, Iowa. They had a daughter Mary L. Lauck born 1923 in Los Angeles, California. By 1930 the family was back in Wichita where Dee was listed a a producer of crude oil.

Dee died 18 Jun 1969 in Wichita, Kansas and was buried in the Mission Chapel Mausoleum. His wife, Amy, followed on 16 May 1971.
