Grave of Philander McCarter
Philander is buried on his farm in Ashe County, North Carolina just over the Virginia state line. His grave is located half-way up a hillside in an unfenced cemetery in a cow pasture.
This grave is on the endangered list having lost much of the inscription at the bottom in just the last five years. My parents visited it in the fall of 2004 and placed the marker face down to help protect it from the elements. We need a plan to save this grave.
