His brother, Thomas, had been a judge and arrived in Leesburg in 1870. Obituary of Jasper Elder Civil War Veteran Called to Rest Jasper N. Elder, Civil War veteran and pioneer resident of this county, died at the home of his son, A.L. Elder, on the Hockensmith ranch, Sunday morning, August 19, 1923 at the age of 83 years. Two sons, A.L. of Salmon and E.A. of Oklahoma, and one daughter, Mrs. Bert Simer, of Salmon survive, two children, Eva (Mrs. Charles Culver) and Thomas, having died some years ago.
