Census Records for William and Susan Lolley Fowler
August 20, 1850
Ontario, Wayne County, New York
According to family tradition, after the death of her husband George Lolley in England, Susan married William Fowler and they immigrated to the U.S. about 1847.
Later census records show a daughter Mary A. born in New York in June of 1846 which means the family should appear in the 1850 census, but a search turned up nothing except for this rather interesting set of next-door-neighbors in Wayne, Ontario County, New York.
Maybe there's a bit more to William and Susan's story? Susan is known to have had a son George of this age, and daughter Mary A. shown here fits the Mary A. found in later census records. Neither a Harriet or David appear with the family in later records, but could have been on their own by 1860.
The Susan and William in this census would have been born in 1816. Following census records give their birth years variously as 1812, 1810 and 1813. If this really is our William and Susan, what became of William's family?

In 1880 William is still living in Johnson County, Missouri but Susan has apparently died and their daughter Mary is back in the fold. She has married Eugene R. Burnett and they have three children - Rosa, Herman, and Walter all born in Minnesota. They have at least one more child, Herbert in 1882, and later move to South Dakota.

In 1886 William Jr. married his half-niece Susan H. Lolley, daughter of George, and later followed some of the family to Kansas.
